Before you start, we walk you through how everything works, cover safety basics, and guide you step by step while you’re tufting. Instructors are there the whole time, so you’re never figuring it out on your own.

It’s hands-on, supervised, and meant to be fun, not stressful.

Small rugs take anywhere from 2-3 hours to complete. They are a good place to start with simple designs to get you familiar with the tufting process.

Recently, the craze of tufting has spread across the country,
Cereal City Tuftin' launches Battle Creek's first rug tufting workshop.
In the gun weaving workshop, you can create your favorite patterns on the cloth with 100% acrylic yarn of various colors.
This activity is both relaxing and allows you to create unique handicrafts.

We will be here for you...
When you sign up for our tufting workshops, we will need you to choose the picture that fits the frame size that you want. Please choose a drawing version picture, the actual photo cannot be tufted. Your picture will be ready when you arrive.
Once the tufting part is finished, we will help you seal the backing onsite, then give it some trimming and cutting work. Right now we have this new technology that allows us to finish the whole thing in just one visit!
Be confident and everybody will take home a perfect customized tufting rug.

Tufting Process
The tufting process begins with selecting or creating a design, which is projected onto stretched fabric as a guide. After threading the tufting gun with chosen yarn colors, the design is carefully filled by shooting yarn through the fabric to create textured loops. Once tufting is complete, adhesive is applied to the back to secure the yarn, followed by trimming and adding a backing material for a polished, finished look. This process transforms simple threads into vibrant, tactile artworks.
