Y’all… can we just take a moment to appreciate how absolutely RIDICULOUSLY handsome my Black Mottled English Orpington rooster is?! 😍🐓
I mean… look at him.
The man knows he’s pretty too. He struts around here like he pays the mortgage, contributes to the electric bill, and personally built the chicken coop.
And apparently, he has decided it’s time to monetize his good looks. 😂😂😂
For a nominal fee, this fine gentleman is willing to sell you some of his offspring. 🤣🐥
But seriously…
Black Mottled English Orpingtons are an absolutely beautiful and unique variety of Orpington. They are known for:
🐓 Their HUGE, fluffy English build
🖤 Gorgeous black feathers with white mottling
😍 Sweet, friendly personalities
🥚 Good egg production
❄️ Cold-hardiness and hardiness in general
🏡 Being excellent backyard and family chickens
Orpingtons are one of my favorite breeds because they are basically the Golden Retrievers of the chicken world—big, fluffy, friendly, and completely convinced they belong wherever you are.
And here’s something a lot of people don’t realize…
Fall and winter are actually GREAT times to buy chicks!
By purchasing chicks now, they’ll have plenty of time to grow and mature before spring. Depending on the breed and age, you can have birds approaching laying age just as everyone else is scrambling to find chicks at feed stores.
Plus:
🐥 Less competition for chicks
🐥 You can build your flock before spring
🐥 Chicks raised through cooler months often feather out beautifully
🐥 By spring, you aren’t starting from scratch—you already have a growing flock!
So basically…
You get adorable baby dinosaurs now…
And beautiful chickens and eggs later.
Sounds like a solid investment to me. 😂😂😂
If you’re interested in adding some gorgeous Black Mottled English Orpington genetics to your flock, apparently this handsome fellow is accepting applications and collecting his royalties. 🐓💰😂
