I am considering painting this piece. I asked ChatGPT what it would look like in black and am loving the black! But I do love the blue, too. Which one do y’all like the best?

I bought the bottom of this piece at a thrift store when visiting my cousin in Ohio a couple of years ago. It was a dark cherry then but in perfect condition. I took the top from another hutch I had and put them together. I think they go together well. Someone came in my house one day and was talking about how much they loved it and said “I know that’s an antique…must have cost a fortune!” 🤣. Little did they know, I don’t pay a fortune for anything. It costs me $75 and some paint! 😉

So help a girl out and please comment below and let me know which color you like. Thanks so much for your input. ❤️

Wallpaper! You either love it or you hate it! Several years ago when I was removing wallpaper from another home someone else had mounted, I swore I would never, ever, ever hang wallpaper in my home!

Fast forward a few years and I love it and have it in quite a few rooms in my home. To me, it adds character and warmth to a room.

I know there are some of you who say”no, not me!”. But there are such beautiful patterns now and it’s much easier to remove depending on what you put up.

There are three kinds.
1. Unpasted. You brush wallpaper paste on your wall to hang.
2. Prepasted. You simply add water to the back of your wallpaper. Moves easily to match. And my favorite.
3. Peel and stick. Comes off easily but, to me, is a nightmare to hang. I tried it a few weeks ago and got so frustrated on the second roll, I took it all down! You may like it and it hung beautifully for you, and if you did, CONGRATULATIONS! ❤️

Wallpaper can also be very pricy. All my wallpaper comes from Wayfair. They have so many beautiful designs and you can get in any version you want. I just ordered some for my daughter’s bedroom. Their prices are very, very reasonable. You also can only wallpaper one wall to save money but still make a big statement in your room.

So before Thanksgiving, I am hosting a Friendsgiving. I am so excited! It will be a wonderful, fun day with some of my favorite people. ❤️

Have any of you done a Friendsgiving? Did you do a traditional turkey dinner, or potluck, or pasta? Any fun games? Hostess gifts?

I am already preparing because this is the first one I’ve done. Do you have ideas, recipes, tips to share?

I can’t wait to start decorating for Christmas! Usually I would begin the first of November but this year I’ll have to wait until the middle of November. I am hosting a Friendsgiving so want all my fall decor up till then.

Here are a few pics from last Christmas. I usually add one or two new pieces every year and special ornaments to commemorate the passing year.

But I can hardly wait! There is nothing like the glow of Christmas lights!
