UPDATE... It is inspiring to see how many people have taken it upon themselves to light Shabbat candles for Samantha this week!
Please let me know if you are going to do this so we can add you to the list that will be presented to the Josephson family before Shabbat comes in.
Here is what is traditionally done:
At 7:09 PM gather your family and light a candle for you, your spouse and children. You can light one if this doesn’t apply to you.
Cover your eyes so you can have complete concentration and say the attached blessing (if you would like to print this out, email me [email protected] and I will send it to you.)
At this time- it is an appropriate time to pray from your heart in your own words. Please have in mind that you are lighting in unity with other Robbinsville women in honor of Samantha’s memory. Remember her name, remember what happened to her and remember to do this special mitzvah in her honor!
This week, our hearts were broken upon hearing the news of the unthinkable passing of Samantha Josephson of blessed memory.
Many of us never knew her name, or even knew that she grew up in this quaint little town that we all call home...
But we do know that light has been diminished from this earth, a bright shining soul that had so much to offer was extinguished.
This Friday night, let’s join together to increase in light!
In conjunction with Chabad at USC we are coming together to light a Shabbat candle in honor of Samantha!
Let us never forget the power of light over darkness and good over evil.
Please consider this special mitzvah in memory of Samantha, and let me know that you will be doing this in her honor so that we can tell her family. PM, call, email, text, or comment!
If you need help with this special mitzvah- do not hesitate to reach out. We have candles, insight and so much more.
Candle lighting in Robbinsville this week is:7:09 PM
We pray that the Shabbat candles pe*****te the darkness and bring peace and healing to the Josephson family, together with us all.
