Had an amazing week spent in Minneapolis and Wisconsin! I first got to see my loves and and celebrated May Day.

Then I headed to Wisconsin for my .art workshop with ! My fellow cohorts members, .pottery and and I learned all about terra sigilatta and ate so much incredible food. Rhonda was such a great host and teacher. It was a wonderful week of learning and chatting and spending time in great company.

We capped it off with going to visit the . It was incredible to see so much pottery, I was absolutely blown away by the amount of work everyone made. I bought a few pieces, and especially this plate by (last slide) that is just so juicy and gorgeous with all that beautiful soda.

Thank you to everyone I got to see and spend time with, I’m glowing and floating and can’t wait to test out some more Sig on my work!

Pieces out of April’s soda firing! I made some pieces for the cup show that .city.clay is hosting at as well as testing some new ideas I’ve been working on! I’ve been loving working with this wild clay slip I made from clay I found on Whidbey Island, it’s such a nice rich brown and it’s been fun to experiment with :) some of these faceted cups had some amazing flashing that I’m stoked about too

Cup show will be running through May, opening night is May 5th from 2-5pm!

NCECA 2026!! Here’s a little photo dump from this week. I had such an amazing week in Detroit at NCECA this year, my 2nd conference was filled with laughter, joy and so many lovely people. It was a blast hanging out with and all week, and meeting my fellow .art people and .pottery! ❤️

We also explored the Detroit institute of Art and Pewabic Pottery, which were such amazing places

Thank you Detroit for another year and I’m looking forward to more!

Here’s a few pieces from the latest February soda firing I did with ! Starting January, I’ve been very lucky to have as my mentor as part of the .art program. Rhonda is an incredible mentor and I am so grateful and excited to be able to be part of this program. I leave each meeting with so much excitement and full of so many ideas. It’s been great having a support system both at RCC/RCS and now the Cohorts program to be able to talk my ideas through and work out the technical details that I often get hung up on. I am thankful to be surrounded by so many positive and supportive voices and people and I look forward to the next few months and where it may take my art 🤩

This last week I won a share in the raffled soda firing and I was able to fire this pitcher I had made as well as a few other pieces. It was really amazing to be able to participate in another soda firing and see how everyone’s work turned out. I’m really excited about how this piece came out, I love the amount of variation in both the slip and glazed surfaces and how they interact with the soda ash.

Hoping to get more pitchers in future soda kilns 🤩

A new take on the pitcher forms I’ve been making. I like how much more voluminous this version feels. This one was entirely hand built, the body is slabs and I coil build the spout and base. I’m having fun exploring more of the handbuilding side of pottery. I think I’d like to try throwing the body for this one next time, to get some less angular lines. The base also needs some fine tuning, I don’t think the shape suits the rest of it as harmoniously as I’d like, it feels more that the body is sinking into it rather than standing tall and proud. But overall I quite like the look and feel of it!

Hi friends! It’s been a while since I’ve made an update, but there’s been a lot of changes in the works.

I moved to Seattle at the end of June, where I started a membership and just had my first week this week also working as a part time studio tech! I’m so incredibly excited about this opportunity 🥰

I’ve been feeling pretty creatively burned out this summer, and have also really been struggling with my self confidence and “worth” as an artist. To that extent I hadn’t made much except for some silly handbuilt things that I could divorce myself from and just make to have fun (which is what art is all about anyways, right?).

This week I also got to participate in a cone 6 soda firing with Rat City. I was able to help load and unload the kiln and even spray in soda which was a blast!

I’m trying to get back to making regular work now and have been working on my pitcher forms again. I’m also trying to think more critically about the pieces I make in general, and make things that I can feel very proud of again.

I’m excited about this next chapter and what it holds, and hopefully I will start posting more, stay tuned ❤️ thank you for supporting my journey

The last of my wood fired pots! These vases are probably my favorite of the lot, I do love how the lanterns and the little boxes also turned out, but the range of color on the vases is pure poetry.
