Want your home to feel a little warmer, softer, and more connected to nature?

Woven wood shades bring natural texture to the window using materials and fibers that create beautiful variations in color and weave. Instead of feeling overly polished or formal, they add the kind of warmth and dimension that works especially well in relaxed, organic interiors.

They’re also highly customizable. Depending on the look and function you need, woven wood shades can be paired with different liner options for additional privacy and light control—so you can enjoy their natural beauty without sacrificing practicality.

At Lorraine's Window Coverings, we’ll help you choose the right weave, color, and lining to create custom woven wood shades that feel perfectly at home in your space.

Your windows can be a major source of heat gain and heat loss—but the right window treatments can help.

Interior shutters create an additional barrier between your windows and the room. When the louvers are closed, they can help reduce heat transfer at the window, contributing to a more comfortable indoor environment during both hot summers and cold winters.

While shutters aren’t a replacement for properly insulated windows, their combination of insulation, adjustable light control, privacy, and timeless style makes them a hardworking addition to your home.

At Lorraine's Window Coverings, we’ll help you choose custom shutters designed to fit your windows beautifully and enhance your everyday comfort.

Big windows deserve to be enjoyed—but all that glass can also mean glare, heat, and a lot less privacy.

Roller shades are a great option for large windows because their streamlined design provides coverage without adding visual bulk. With the right fabric, you can filter harsh sunlight, reduce glare, increase privacy, or create a darker room when needed. And for especially wide or hard-to-reach windows, motorization can make adjusting your shades effortless.

Proper measuring and product selection are especially important with oversized windows. At Lorraine's Window Coverings, we’ll help you choose roller shades that are designed to fit your windows beautifully and provide the light control your space needs.

Small windows need the right proportions, too.

For compact windows, blinds with slimmer slats and a clean, tailored fit can provide privacy and precise light control without making the window feel crowded. Choosing the right material, color, and mounting style can also help a smaller window feel more open and intentional.

At Lorraine's Window Coverings, we’ll help you find custom blinds that fit your smaller windows beautifully while making the most of every inch.

How dark do you actually want your bedroom to be?

Light-filtering cellular shades soften harsh sunlight and maintain a bright, comfortable atmosphere during the day. Blackout cellular shades are designed for significantly greater light blockage, making them ideal for light-sensitive sleepers, nurseries, or anyone who prefers a darker bedroom.

Either way, the cellular construction adds an insulating layer at the window for added comfort.

At Lorraine's Window Coverings, we’ll help you choose the right fabric and opacity based on how you sleep, when your room gets sunlight, and the level of privacy you need.

Thinking about investing in interior shutters? Before you choose, make sure you're asking the right questions.

1️⃣ What shutter material works best for this room? Wood and composite options each offer different benefits depending on the space.

2️⃣ What louver size should I choose? Louver size affects your view, light control, and the overall look of your shutters.

3️⃣ Which color and finish will complement my home? Your shutters can blend seamlessly with your trim or become a more noticeable design feature.

4️⃣ How much privacy and light control do I need? The right configuration should work with how you actually use the room throughout the day.

5️⃣ Who will measure and install them? A precise fit and professional installation are essential for shutters to look and operate the way they should.

At Lorraine's Window Coverings, we guide you through every decision so you don't have to figure it out alone. From material and finish to measurements and installation, we'll help you create custom shutters designed specifically for your home.

Your shades can help make your home more comfortable in every season.

Hunter Douglas Duette® Honeycomb Shades use a cellular construction that traps air at the window, adding insulation where homes can lose or gain significant heat. That means better year-round comfort paired with the clean, sophisticated look of a custom shade.

At Lorraine's Window Coverings, we’ll help you select the right Duette® fabric, color, and configuration for your windows—so you don’t have to choose between beautiful design and practical performance.

Shutters are built to last—so choosing the right ones the first time matters.

One of the biggest mistakes homeowners make is focusing only on appearance. Louver size, material, mounting style, window shape, and even how much natural light a room receives can all affect how your shutters look and function. Choosing the wrong material for a moisture-prone room or overlooking how the louvers will interact with furniture and window hardware can lead to frustration later.

And don't underestimate the importance of accurate measurements. Custom shutters should look like they were made as part of your home, not added as an afterthought.

At Lorraine's Window Coverings, we guide you through these details so you can feel confident you're investing in shutters that fit properly, function beautifully, and complement your home for years to come.
