✨ Flower Spotlight: Snapdragons ✨

One of our favorite flowers is putting on quite the show right now… Snapdragons! 💐

Did you know snapdragons got their name because each bloom looks a little like a dragon’s face? If you gently squeeze the sides of the flower, it even “opens and closes its mouth!” It’s one of those little things that both kids and adults love.

Not only are they beautiful, but they’re also one of the hardest-working flowers in the garden. Snapdragons are known for:
🌸 Tall, elegant flower spikes that add height and texture to bouquets.
🌸 A long vase life, often lasting 7–10 days or more with fresh water.
🌸 A sweet, delicate fragrance that fills a room without being overpowering.
🌸 Blooming over a long season, especially when harvested regularly.
🌸 Attracting pollinators like bumblebees, who are strong enough to tuck themselves inside the blooms.

We are blessed with a large flush of snapdragons right now, and we can’t wait to share them with you! They’ll be featured in bouquets at our next pop-up, and trust us—you won’t want to miss these beauties. Between their vibrant colors, graceful blooms, and wonderful fragrance, they’re one of our favorite flowers to grow.

Hello Flower Friends,
We wanted to share a quick update on what’s happening at Twisted Roots Flower Farm.
As many of you know, we’ve been working diligently to open the farm to the public this season. Unfortunately, Boone County is not yet allowing us to welcome visitors onto the farm as we continue working through the permitting process.
While this isn’t the news we were hoping to share, we haven’t lost hope.
We’re continuing to work closely with the county and remain committed to doing everything we can to open the farm to the public this season.
In the meantime, we still want to share a little piece of Twisted Roots with our community—and we’d love to see you!

🌸Pop-Up Shop at Sips & Sprinkles

We are incredibly thankful for the kindness and generosity of the owner of Sips & Sprinkles in Belvidere, who graciously offered us the opportunity to use her storefront so we can continue sharing our farm with all of you.

What a week! 🌻💛

It was a VERY hot week, but our hearts are so full.

One of the greatest joys of growing flowers isn’t just watching them bloom—it’s sharing them with our community.

This week we were blessed to:
🌻 Deliver a bucket of sunflowers to Ned’s Diner for their amazing staff and patrons.
🌼 Bring flowers to St. James to honor our Lord Jesus Christ and our Blessed Mother.
💐 Surprise the wonderful ladies at Midland Bank with fresh blooms.

Then today, after our Pop Up at Sips & Sprinkles, we gathered our extra flowers, created a few more arrangements, and made one last round of deliveries. We surprised the incredible staff at the City of Belvidere offices, SS Subs on State Street, the hardworking team at C.E.S. Services, and the residents and staff at Maple Crest Nursing Home.

We truly believe flowers have a special way of bringing joy, encouragement, and reminding people that they are seen and appreciated.

To everyone who came out and supported us at today’s Pop Up—thank you from the bottom of our hearts. Every bouquet you purchase helps us continue growing this little dream while also giving back to the community we love.

A very special thank you to Sips & Sprinkles for being so incredibly generous and welcoming. Thank you for allowing us to set up in front of your store as often as we can this summer. Your support of our little flower farm means more than you know, and we’re so grateful for your kindness and encouragement.
