2027 KITCHEN TREND No. 3: The Timeless Kitchen
After years of flat-panel doors and ultra-minimal looks, designers are predicting a shift back toward kitchens with a little more character—think inset cabinetry, furniture-inspired details, and finishes that feel classic rather than trendy.
This kitchen is such a beautiful example.
From the inset cabinet doors to the rich wood tones, black accents, and cabinetry that carries all the way down to the countertop, every detail adds warmth, depth, and a more custom, collected feel.
It’s traditional—but in a fresh, updated way.
That’s what we expect to see more of in 2027: kitchens that feel grounded, tailored, and timeless… the kind of spaces that look just as beautiful years from now as they do today.
Because great design never chases trends—it outlives them. 🤎

2027 KITCHEN TREND No. 2: The Collector’s Kitchen
Beautiful collections are coming out from behind closed doors.
Designers are seeing a renewed interest in custom glass-front cabinetry created specifically to showcase china, glassware, heirlooms and meaningful pieces—especially as more people are entertaining at home.
And this kitchen is such a perfect example.
The Design Store created this custom cabinetry around the homeowners’ extensive Pyrex collection, giving those colorful, cherished pieces a place to be enjoyed every single day rather than tucked away in a cupboard.
It’s part storage, part display—and entirely personal.
That’s one of the biggest shifts we’re seeing for 2027: kitchens that don’t just look beautiful, but tell a story about the people who live there.
Because the things you love deserve to be seen. 💛

2027 KITCHEN TREND No. 1: The Hardworking Kitchen

Beautiful kitchens aren’t going anywhere—but in 2027, designers are putting just as much emphasis on how a kitchen works as how it looks.

Think dedicated coffee stations, baking centers, appliance garages, walk-in pantries, sculleries and hidden prep areas—all designed around the way you actually use your kitchen every day.

Instead of simply making kitchens bigger, the trend is toward making every inch more intentional.

And honestly? We love it.

This dedicated coffee station from one of our kitchen projects is a perfect example. Everything you need has its own beautiful little home, keeping the main kitchen counters cleaner while turning an everyday ritual into something special.

Because the best kitchen isn’t necessarily the biggest or the most impressive.

It’s the one designed specifically for the people who live there.

Over the next few days, we’ll be sharing more of the kitchen trends designers are predicting you’ll see everywhere in 2027. Stay tuned. 🤎

A Study in Texture. 🤍
The most beautiful spaces aren’t built on color alone—they’re built in layers. Soft boucle, woven textiles, subtle pattern, warm wood tones and a little metallic shimmer all work together to give this bedroom depth without taking away from its calm, neutral palette.
Texture is what makes a room feel finished, inviting and anything but flat.
At The Design Store, we love helping you find the right mix of materials, finishes and furnishings to make your space feel beautifully collected.

LET’S TALK TUBS. 🛁
Are tubs making a comeback? In many ways, yes — just not the giant whirlpool tubs we remember.
Today’s tubs are cleaner, more sculptural and much more intentional. A freestanding soaking tub can become the focal point of a spacious primary bath, while a compact soaking tub or thoughtfully placed alcove tub can bring the same sense of relaxation to a smaller footprint.
And that’s really the trend we’re seeing: the right tub for the way you live and the space you have.
A few designer tips when considering a tub:
• Don’t assume you need a huge bathroom. There are beautiful compact soaking tubs designed for smaller spaces.
• Think about proportion. The tub should feel like it belongs in the room rather than overwhelming it.
• Consider placement. A window, feature wall, beautiful tile or statement tub filler can turn the tub area into a true design moment.
• Choose materials and finishes that connect the tub to the rest of the room — warm woods, large-format tile, brushed metals and natural textures are all trending strongly right now.
• And most importantly: design for how you actually live. If soaking is part of your routine, make room for it. If it isn’t, that space may serve you better somewhere else.
From compact and cozy to dramatic and spa-worthy, there truly is a tub for nearly every style — and every size bathroom.
Let The Design Store help you create a bathroom that looks beautiful and works beautifully, too.

From concept to completion, you’re never left to figure it out on your own.

Our designers help you visualize your space from the very beginning—bringing ideas to life, refining the details, and evolving the design along the way until everything feels just right.

It’s a hands-on, collaborative process built around your home, your style, and the way you want to live.

Because great design isn’t just about seeing the finished space. It’s about having someone beside you through every step it takes to get there.

The Design Store — helping you see the vision, shape the details, and bring it all home.
