Yesterday three lovely ladies from Minnesota, Maine, and Missouri who are attending a broom making seminar came in and wanted books on broom making. To my chagrin I didn’t have any. They pointed out that we did not have books about topics such as jewelry, carving, ceramics, gourd art, watercolor, stained glass, blacksmithing, broom making, glass blowing, Appalachian crafts. We will pay reasonably well for quality books on these topics so that we can offer these during Berea Learnshops.

These wonderful ladies came looking for broom making books. Please help these sweet young aspiring broom makers by bringing them to Mary Lou’s by Monday. Reminder we are open daily from 10-5 and they are really neat.

Vickey J. Anglin came by with her first book. Sun Up Till Sun Down is available for $10.00 at Mary Lou’s. Vickey will be speaking at Hometown Authors at Top Gallery on June 19th at 7:30. Other artists include Vicki Hayes, Jacob Barnes, Debbonnaire Kovacs, Zayda Flanery, Bill Carman, Libby Jones, and June Mullins Whitler. Kim Kobersmith will be playing the flute. There is a no admission charge and you are most welcome.

My granddaughter Cate Wiese recently graduated from high school. She is headed to Ball State University on a full scholarship to become a music educator. This girl is a delight and it has been my joy to have her in my life. Young people like Cate are our hope and I believe she and her contemporaries will change the world.

Greetings book lovers of Kentucky and other friends of Robie Books! Back when we closed, I put all kinds of amazing books and store supplies into a storage unit and have housed it there for over 5 years. Until...
