Nu Interiors Award Winning Interior Design Studio I California & New Jersey I Renovations I Kitchens I Bathrooms Form and function meet comfort in every Nu Interiors space.

The home should be a balance of openness, light, and beauty combined with great functional needs like organization and storage for everyday living. By listening to the needs of my clients, I combine these elements to find the ultimate in an aesthetically pleasing, yet livable space, even in the smallest of rooms. I'm Nureed Saeed– Owner and Designer. I've spent 15 years in fashion cultivating my taste by working with luxury brands such as Cartier, Ferragamo, Montblanc, Carolina Herrera, Chopard, Alexis Bittar, as well as household names including Ralph Lauren, Liz Claiborne, Kenneth Cole and Greg Norman. As a designer I combine great taste with affordability — good design needs to be accessible, especially when it involves the home. A designer, and design, needs to be approachable and appreciate the needs and desires of the people living in a particular space. My design process involves partnering with my clients in an open, collaborative atmosphere. As a mother of three, I know first hand what it means to have to balance a busy life with a growing family, and what it means to have a home that not only works for my family but —at the end of the day— also feels like an oasis of calm.

Everyone deserves dignity and a home that feels like it is theirs. On 9/19 the Salvage & Style Gala by Make It Home Bay Area with the help of our incredible team, volunteers, and generous supporters shone a light on what makes this organization so special. I serve on the board of Make it Home, which furnishes spaces for those coming out of housing instability. Talented designers from around the bay designed the tablescapes for the gala using found items from the warehouse and showcasing the the power of how the small things change a person and how they feel. Good design isn’t a luxury - it’s dignity.

Here’s what actually happens in between: I solve the layout, draw the plans, spec every plumbing line down to the steam system, bring in specialists when a space calls for it, and choose everything else — paint, grout, hardware, window, ventilation, lighting, glass AND so much more. August brought three big wins and I’m honored: Best of Oakland in Interior Design,KBDN Best Bathroom (Bronze), and NKBA NorCal Best Small Bathroom (3rd place). Before Nu Interiors, I spent 15 years in fashion — buying, product development, licensing, brand management for names like Ralph Lauren, Kenneth Cole and more.

Fashion taught me about quality, taste, but also how to read a person fast — their style, their comfort, what makes them feel like themselves. Listening to the consumer was key.

Interiors is the same just a bigger canvas. That’s still the first thing I do with every client: listen before I design.

I don’t love the word “trend”. Trends expire, good design doesn’t. But I will say this: after a few years of cool, quiet palettes, I’m seeing (and designing) more warmth again. Not because it’s having a moment, but because warm tones age well and feel like home longer than a gray box ever will. That’s the actual test I use, not “is it in,” but “will you still love it in ten years.”
