The coffee machine's pump lacked pressure during heating, leading to a pump replacement. This Ulka vibratory pump, with an average lifespan of 7 years, was 10 years old. We installed an EAX 5 model with a brass fitting, which is otherwise identical.

We put the DeLonghi espresso machine through rigorous testing, intentionally packing the coffee extra hard and using a super fine grind to force any potential leaks. After multiple tests, this machine remains completely dry, even under high pressure. No leaks found on the counter or behind the machine.

This Mahlkönig X64 grinder wasn't activating, and upon opening it, we found it jammed with coffee. It appears a dark roast was the culprit. These newer grinders have 64mm burrs and a high RPM motor, meaning they trade torque for speed. It's best to hot-start them to avoid jamming, especially with dark roasts.
