Some places just get me. And Lucky Fish Gallery has all my heart.

The colors, the variety, the impeccable eye for art, ceramics, and pieces you don’t see everywhere. Their curation is always a treat, and the fact that they’re local, right here in Greensboro, makes me love them even more.

Definitely one of my favorite stops at High Point Market tucked inside the Antique & Design Center.

So much personality, so much good taste. Every single time. ❤️

Sometimes it’s not about adding more, but knowing exactly what to put together.

This custom hand-painted wallpaper brings all that movement, then the red headboard and pendant come in against the black and white and suddenly everything feels intentional. None of these elements needs to do all the work on its own. It’s the way they play off each other that gives the room its impact.

And sometimes that’s the hardest part, knowing what to choose, what to leave out, and what will work together before you actually see it all in the room. That’s also where having a designer can make all the difference. 😉

These “after” photos don’t quite do this room justice. I don’t always get the chance to photograph a project under ideal conditions, and in this case, the only opportunity I had was at night, without the natural light that makes such a difference in interior photography. But I loved this transformation too much not to share it.

We’re slowly moving away from the white-on-white, neutral-on-neutral interiors that dominated for so long, and bringing back rooms with more personality, depth, color and energy. And this one definitely got the memo.

Layering pattern, texture, art and deeper tones gave this room the personality it was missing. I love how the mix of old and new makes it feel collected rather than decorated.

And yes, I will always choose a room with a little attitude.

After years of white, beige and gray, interiors are having fun again.

Color, pattern and personality are making their way back into our homes, and wallpaper is one of my favorite ways to bring them in. It can be bold, subtle, graphic or textured, but the right one can completely transform a room and make it feel collected, interesting and personal.

One room. Two completely different points of view.

The before took a clean, coordinated approach to the space. The after tells a different story, more layered, collected, colorful and unexpected.

And that’s one of the things I love most about interior design: there isn’t one right answer for a room.

The architecture gives us the space. What we choose to do with it gives it a personality.

Here, we played with color, pattern, texture, art and pieces from different styles and periods, letting them coexist instead of asking everything to match.

Neither version needed fixing.

They’re simply two very different ways of seeing the same room.

Before & afters are always fun. But the best ones make you wonder why the room feels so different.

There was nothing wrong with this room. But there was so much more it could be.

Same walls. Almost the same layout. But instead of treating every piece as its own little moment, we used the architecture to connect the room.

Instead of a headboard that stopped at the bed, we stretched it across the room. Instead of curtains framing a window, we let them frame the wall. The floating nightstands keep the floor visually open and make everything around the bed feel lighter. And that single horizontal stripe? It keeps the eye moving around the space instead of breaking it into smaller pieces.

And suddenly, you stop noticing the size of the room and start noticing the room.

Same square footage.

Completely different sense of space.

Never underestimate a hallway.

It’s the first impression of your home and one of the most overlooked spaces. A bold color and an architectural detail completely transformed this space.

But this hallway needed to do more than just look beautiful, it needed to reflect the people who live here. My clients have such vibrant, joyful personalities, and the original space didn’t tell their story. Now, before you even step into the rest of the house, you get a glimpse of who they are.

That’s what great design is all about: creating a home that feels like you.
