One room. Two completely different points of view.

The before took a clean, coordinated approach to the space. The after tells a different story, more layered, collected, colorful and unexpected.

And that’s one of the things I love most about interior design: there isn’t one right answer for a room.

The architecture gives us the space. What we choose to do with it gives it a personality.

Here, we played with color, pattern, texture, art and pieces from different styles and periods, letting them coexist instead of asking everything to match.

Neither version needed fixing.

They’re simply two very different ways of seeing the same room.

Before & afters are always fun. But the best ones make you wonder why the room feels so different.

There was nothing wrong with this room. But there was so much more it could be.

Same walls. Almost the same layout. But instead of treating every piece as its own little moment, we used the architecture to connect the room.

Instead of a headboard that stopped at the bed, we stretched it across the room. Instead of curtains framing a window, we let them frame the wall. The floating nightstands keep the floor visually open and make everything around the bed feel lighter. And that single horizontal stripe? It keeps the eye moving around the space instead of breaking it into smaller pieces.

And suddenly, you stop noticing the size of the room and start noticing the room.

Same square footage.

Completely different sense of space.

Never underestimate a hallway.

It’s the first impression of your home and one of the most overlooked spaces. A bold color and an architectural detail completely transformed this space.

But this hallway needed to do more than just look beautiful, it needed to reflect the people who live here. My clients have such vibrant, joyful personalities, and the original space didn’t tell their story. Now, before you even step into the rest of the house, you get a glimpse of who they are.

Sometimes the smallest details make the biggest difference.

The patterned backsplash is definitely the showstopper, but the floating shelves are what make it work. They soften the bold pattern, add dimension, and create space to style pieces that make the kitchen feel personal instead of purely functional.

It’s all about balance. Bold enough to make a statement, simple enough to let the room breathe.

A good before-and-after isn’t always about what was removed.

Sometimes it’s about looking at the same space differently.

No major renovation.
No demolition.
No custom millwork.

Just paint, creativity, and a willingness to rethink what was already there.

The result? A completely different feeling for a fraction of the cost.

This project challenged me in the best possible way.

What once felt small, dark, disconnected, and honestly a little forgotten… slowly became one of those transformations that reminds me exactly why I fell in love with design in the first place.

There were many moments behind these photos, layout studies, construction dust everywhere, second guessing walls, wrong size windows, reworking flow, chasing light, trying to make every square foot work harder and feel better. Not just prettier. Better.

The goal was never simply to “update” the house. It was to completely change the experience of living in it.

To open it up. To bring in light. To create connection between spaces. To make it feel calm, functional, welcoming, and intentional.

And now seeing the before and after side by side honestly makes me emotional a little bit. Because this is the part people don’t always see about design, how much thought, problem solving, vision, and trust goes into transforming a house into a home that finally makes sense for the people living there.

So proud of this one.
