This project challenged me in the best possible way.

What once felt small, dark, disconnected, and honestly a little forgotten… slowly became one of those transformations that reminds me exactly why I fell in love with design in the first place.

There were many moments behind these photos, layout studies, construction dust everywhere, second guessing walls, wrong size windows, reworking flow, chasing light, trying to make every square foot work harder and feel better. Not just prettier. Better.

The goal was never simply to ā€œupdateā€ the house. It was to completely change the experience of living in it.

To open it up. To bring in light. To create connection between spaces. To make it feel calm, functional, welcoming, and intentional.

And now seeing the before and after side by side honestly makes me emotional a little bit. Because this is the part people don’t always see about design, how much thought, problem solving, vision, and trust goes into transforming a house into a home that finally makes sense for the people living there.

So proud of this one.

HPMKT Spring ’26

Every market, I pick one piece that stays with me.
Just the one that doesn’t need explaining.

This year, it’s this room divider shelving by
The proportion is right, the rhythm of the slats is intentional, and it creates separation without killing the flow, which is harder to do than it looks.

It gives you function, movement, and architecture all at once.
And that’s exactly the kind of piece worth paying attention to.

This is your reminder that you don’t need a full room makeover.
Sometimes one corner, done right, changes everything.

Before you add more, refine what’s already there.

Just stopped by to check on this little refresh and… hold on. 🤩 When did this turn into a whole vibe?

No big remodel, just some paint, a few smart tweaks, and a little creativity on a budget doing her thing.

And the best part?
That old antique ladder I found… now casually stealing the show like it always belonged there.

Sometimes it’s not about buying more.
It’s about looking at what you already have and giving it a better job.

This room was already good.
The color, the wood, everything working.

But then you add one oversized piece like this…
and suddenly it has a personality.

That’s the shift.

It’s usually not about adding more.
It’s about adding one thing that changes everything.

Once upon a time, in my quarantine DIY era,
I striped my entire living room black and white.

Six years and one house later…
I’m plotting stripes again.

Should I?
Have I learned nothing?
Tell me I shouldn’t.

One woman.
One design studio.
About 47 different job titles.

Designer. Assistant. Accountant. Photographer. Mover. Coffee department…

Running a small design studio means doing a little bit of everything… and somehow loving it.

Any other one-person businesses here who understand this? What’s the job title you never expected to have? ā˜•ļø
