Quite a long time since posting… but the messaging is still the same, even now. This is an occupied home where the seller agreed to make many paint changes as well as a lot of editing… lately, we are hearing occasionally that since housing inventory is low, staging is not as necessary….but that is actually inaccurate. Of course, a property may sell…due to limited houses available with a large number of buyers out there, but unless you create a vision for your buyer, the home may sit, and never secure the price one might hope for. Don’t leave $$ on the table. Staging works!

Very long time between posts! 2022 was very busy with staging and design work…but now we are in a New Year, with a new market, and always new challenges. There is one constant though….Staging makes a huge difference in the presentation of a property for market. Occupied homes are often more challenging due to constraints of existing paint color, fixed elements of a home, or the requirement to simply work with what is there. No matter what, careful editing and styling will always improve the final images of the home, and ultimately the marketing of the home. Staging works!

Reflecting on a recent project this morning. In this significant estate home, full of many architectural details, before and after photos highlight the power of neutralizing a space when preparing a property for the market. This room is seen as you enter the home, and therefore, was critical to modify before putting it on the market. Our sellers were receptive to all changes we suggested and it all paid off! It’s been a long hiatus between posts, so beginning with a throwback Thursday look at this Somerset Hills cottage where, after some paint and carefully curated furniture and accessories, suddenly the brick fireplace took on a new identity and stole the show. Never underestimate the power of paint to neutralize and showcase your home when preparing to sell. This lovely spot went under contract… over asking price and in less than 2 weeks.
