Behind the scenes of a recent project: There is a certain magic in watching a home become everything you once imagined it could be. After months of dreaming, designing, and transforming, the final details are falling into place, and what a beautiful sight it is.

From an entirely reimagined kitchen to bathrooms transformed beyond recognition, every room has found its own story. But perhaps the most extraordinary chapter is the primary bathroom, where magnificent walls of onyx have turned an everyday ritual into something rather spectacular.

And yet, the greatest luxury of all is seeing the joy in a homeowner’s eyes as they fall in love with their home all over again. That moment of gratitude, when every decision, every detail, and every bit of hard work suddenly makes perfect sense, is why I love what I do.

A little glimpse behind the scenes of a transformation I won’t soon forget. ✨

I love a color you can’t quite put your finger on. A green with a little brown in it, or a blue that almost reads gray. There’s so much to work with in those shades, and I’m happy to see them shaping the palette for 2027.

A bathroom built around the beauty of contrast.

The walls are wrapped in dramatic onyx, bringing depth, movement, and serious presence to the space. Against it, a vintage piece was reimagined as the vanity, adding a sense of history and a detail you would never find in a standard bathroom.

The finishing moment is the marvelous cement tub, with its weight, texture, and sculptural form. Old and new, polished and raw, all working together in one unforgettable room. XXNT

Being named US Ambassador for MAISON&OBJET means I get to come to Paris for the fair, spend days walking the halls, and take in everything this industry has to offer. I’m so grateful for that. I always leave with a new list of favorites, and this trip was no different. Here are some of the finds that stood out to me most. XXNT

London has a way of making a few days feel like they belonged to another time.

We stayed at The Langham, all warmth and old world comfort, with afternoon tea at Palm Court and evenings slipping into cocktails at Artesian. There is something about London that makes these little rituals feel important.

We ate the most extraordinary Princess Cake at Lilibet’s, made over three days and honestly one of the most delicious things I’ve ever tasted. At Dorian, our cocktails were made by a man with the biggest smile, so genuinely happy that his joy somehow became part of the evening.

We wandered through the new Alma flagship, five stories wrapped around a soaring brick atrium, every room drenched in another glorious, unapologetic color. We went back to The Wolseley, ate steak, wandered through museums, looked at beautiful art and walked through London with nowhere particularly urgent to be.

But the highlight of the trip had very little to do with where we went.

I reconnected with one of my oldest friends, and there was something so beautiful about discovering that after all the years and all the life lived in between, some friendships simply pick up the thread again. As though time had been waiting patiently for you to return to the conversation.

Perhaps that is why this trip felt so special. It wasn’t really about the restaurants or the beautiful rooms or even London itself. It was about time. The way it passes, the people it brings back to us, and those fleeting, golden moments when you realize, while you are still inside them, that one day you will miss them.

London, you were a beautiful reminder that some things change completely, and some things, wonderfully, never do. XXNT

Not everything trending is worth bringing home, but a few of these have me rethinking kitchens completely. Softer shapes, richer materials, stone that finally gets to be the star, some of it’s staying, and it’s all worth a second look.

Another edition of what isn’t chic. This time, we’re calling out a few things that just aren’t making the cut. Little to no explanation, as always. XXNT

Comment “outfit” for the details.
