These DIY Christmas nutcracker ornaments turn simple plastic cups into colorful decorations that look great hanging on a Christmas tree, garland, or mantel.

How to make them:

1. Start with lightweight plastic cups and paint each one a festive color such as red, green, or navy blue. Let them dry completely.

2. Add a black band around the bottom of each cup to create the nutcracker belt.

3. Glue on a gold buckle, small buttons, and gold trim to create the jacket details.

4. Add strips of gold ribbon or decorative fringe to the sides for the nutcracker’s shoulders.

5. Glue a wooden bead to the bottom of the cup for the head and another bead inside the top to help create the hanging shape.

6. Attach a loop of ribbon or cord to the top so the nutcracker can be hung.

7. Hang your finished nutcrackers together for a colorful, coordinated Christmas display.

This festive DIY turns a simple wooden crate into an adorable Santa-inspired porch decoration. It’s an easy way to create a statement piece for your front door or entryway.

How to make it:

1. Start with a wooden crate and paint it bright red. Let it dry completely.

2. Paint a wide black stripe around the middle of the crate to mimic Santa’s belt.

3. Add a large gold buckle to the front using painted wood, foam, or another lightweight material.

4. Place a pair of red-and-white Santa boots or stockings upside down inside the crate.

5. Fill the top of the crate with faux evergreen branches, pinecones, and berries.

6. For extra sparkle, wrap the crate with battery-operated string lights.

7. Finish by positioning the crate near your front door for a festive Christmas display.
