CHE BELLA CUSTOM FRAMING

Che Bella Custom Framing is a custom picture framing shop on Upper Front Street in Binghamton, New York. It is owned and operated by Jeffery zu Hone. Che Bella Custom Framing began life as Allstate Glass. The company was established by Joseph D. Gaetani, a union glazier with over 45 years of industry experience. In 1986, his son, Michael Gaetan

i, joined the company as an apprentice. Che-Bella Custom Framing opened in 1999 as an additional component to Allstate Glass, which has been servicing the Southern Tier’s commercial and residential glass needs for over 28 years. Jeff zu Hone was hired in 2003 as a part-time framing apprentice while studying art in college. Jeff earned his Associates in Arts from Broome Community College in 2004 and a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Ithaca College in 2006. Jeff became our framing manager in 2009. In June 2018, Jeff was able to purchase the frame shop from Michael. Now the companies are separated, but still work with each other
Che-Bella Custom Framing maintains close relationships with members of our burgeoning local art community. Several local artists and art collectors depend on us to frame their work. We are proud of our affiliations with Broome County Arts Council, Binghamton University, The Embroiderer’s Guild, and Anthony Brunelli Fine Arts. We would also welcome affiliations with other art galleries, clubs or groups. Che-Bella Custom Framing adheres to the highest quality standards, and we keep up with the latest in framing technology innovations, art preservation, and design trends. Our goal is to create art pieces that will last and be loved for a lifetime. Customer satisfaction is our top priority.

I found this article and wanted to share it. I have been discussing this topic a lot lately.
One of my main considerations when framing anything, is the possibility of my work being inspected by another frame shop in the future. If a client moves away, for example, a frame or the glass inside it could be damaged and thus require repair. The integrity of the work done before should be evident. We dress to impress as a policy.

Preservation Framing is the same as Museum Framing which is also the same as Archival Framing. Another term used is Conservation Framing, but this is mostly in the museum and library circles. Generally speaking, these descriptive terms mean that the object(s) or artwork to be framed involves using t...

This flag from "Survivor 48" needed to have the edge reenforced to make this design work. I decided with my client that sewing a leather border around the fabric was necessary. Together, we decided that All Leathers & Repairs was the right place to try. We were right. they did an absolutely fabulous job. Once the border was attached, I was able to tie the flag into this bamboo style frame with leather laces. Pretty "islandy", wouldn't you say?
