Yes, the rumors are true, the former Painted Tree Boutique is reopening in Birmingham (under new name/ownership), as “The Collective Boutique.” It’s been a heck of a bumpy and rough road to pick-up, rebuild, and find a footing once again after the abrupt closure and bankruptcy of the Painted Tree company.
After a lot of heartfelt prayers, a lot of hard conversations, and pen-to-paper pro’s vs con’s, I/we (Ellie included) have decided to stay at Irondale Pickers. I thought hard about going in the new store; however, with the increase in rent (roughly 15%+ increase (and a 58% from my current rent)) in commission from 10% to 15%, and with how much the “Pickers” community has supported, accepted, and encouraged us, we have chosen to stay. We finally found our new home at Irondale Pickers, and when we did, it was a shining light in the small business tunnel that—I honestly thought—might have been the end of our endeavor if the opportunity would not have come when it did (and I have to give credit to the Lord as I spent so many nights sending up tearful prayers on what to do next after the other store closed) .
With everything having being said, we (both myself and Ellie (Ellie’s Corner)) feel at home in our lil’ booth (103), and we LOVE the Pickers community. Sooooo we are staying. Maybe down the road we can expand back into “The Collective,” but for now we are staying, and even if we expand—we are and will be staying—it would just be our secondary location, if we did decide to jump back in with “The Collective” down the road. 🥰
