This homeowner is getting ready to put their home on the market and wanted to restore their existing landscape lighting without the expense of installing an entirely new system.

After troubleshooting the system, we found multiple failed wire connections that had not been protected with waterproof connectors, allowing moisture to cause problems over time. We located each bad connection, rewired the system using proper waterproof connections, and got the lights working again.

To help prevent future issues, we also cleaned every fixture and replaced the seals to protect against water intrusion and extend the life of the fixtures.

Sometimes a full replacement isn’t necessary. With a little troubleshooting and repair work, existing landscape lighting can often be brought back to life, saving homeowners money while improving curb appeal and showcasing their property after dark.

Another landscape lighting upgrade completed at a beautiful garden home in Hoover’s Abingdon at Lake Wilborn community.

This system needed some maintenance to get everything back to performing properly. We cleaned lenses, repositioned fixtures for better coverage, replaced bulbs throughout the system, and installed a new photocell to restore reliable automatic operation.

The result is a cleaner, brighter nighttime appearance with improved safety and curb appeal.

Regular maintenance makes a big difference in the performance and longevity of outdoor lighting systems, especially in established communities like Abingdon.

We spent part of the day troubleshooting and repairing a large-scale landscape lighting system featuring over 1,500 feet of wire and approximately 40 fixtures throughout the property.

Each wire run was tested starting at the transformer and outward from there to track down the issues one section at a time. Most of the problems came from wired connections that had been pulled apart, along with several old clamp-style connections that had failed over time. We rewired the bad connections and made sure everything was fastened properly so they could not be pulled loose again.

In addition, a dry creek bed that turns into a rushing stream during heavy rain had torn apart a section of the wiring. Several rocks were lifted and we secured the wiring safely beneath them to help prevent it from washing away again in the future.

To top it off, the transformer itself had also failed. The homeowners were thrilled when we connected everything to a new transformer and the entire system came back to life.

Iron City Lighting is grateful for the opportunity to take on projects like this and we really enjoyed getting to know the homeowners while working throughout the property. It’s always rewarding to restore a lighting system and see the joy and excitement it brings to the homeowner.

Iron City Lighting added additional lighting along the pathway leading from this garden home to a common area and community garden. By using 2 styles of low-profile fixtures, we were able to install the lights directly into the sod without interfering with lawn mowers or foot traffic.

The homeowner loved the clean, symmetrical look and the added safety of being able to comfortably navigate the walkway and welcome guests at the gate in the evenings.
