Art We Love: Richard Serra’s, “The Matter of Time”, 2005, installation of seven sculptures. Serra is best known for the way his sculptures interact with and disrupt space. The scale of his work made him incredibly innovative, and to see any of his sculptures in person is truly awe-inspiring.

Our Work Space: “The story of our home office renovation is a pandemic story - we had a small single office that was part of our garage and needed more space for the team to be able to work together. Originally a patio, the office addition used the existing roof, and we enclosed everything else to extend the working space. The glass box inspiration came from English conservatories. The idea was to bring light into a dark space by creating an all-glass box.” — Patti Woods

Inspiration: The homeowner of this NYC apartment describes himself as “a mad collector” of art. Over time his fascination has produced a remarkable trove of photography and design objects. What his apartment lacked, though, was a framework that could help all those treasures coexist harmoniously. Interior designer Mike Rupp, the Manhattan-based founder of Rupp Studios, understood the challenge immediately. “Art needs to feel alive in the space,” he says. “Not precious—just fully part of living there.” Rather than layering on decoration, Rupp approached his job as a process of refinement. “The real task was giving the apartment a rhythm.” — ELLE Decor

Inspiration: While a neutral palette is maintained throughout this West Village townhouse, there is a beautiful conversation happening between all the fabrics and textures. There is a nice balance with the neutrals alongside the wood tones, stonework, marble, and especially the artwork, which we love!
