Perhaps the best way to spend a sunny Sunday! Hanging at the Flying Dutchman’s B&B is like drinking in all the goodness life can bring. Delicious food, VERY wet kisses from Rio The Giant, olive trees blowing in the wind, chicks talking amongst themselves, wild flowers peeking out from the cold, wine from Douro River Valley, Ella the princess fighting for your attention and conversation that is real and without pretense.

Whew, the holidays were fast and furious and filled with joy, wonderful friends, way too much food, beautiful lights, a surreal experience in Marrakesh Morocco and it all ended with Ella dancing in the kitchen. 🥰
My hope for everyone in this coming year is to experience unconditional love, peacefulness even in these tumultuous times, a ridiculous amount of laughter, a feeling of belonging because YOU do matter, finding a pace that allows a bit of slowing down so the small things are not missed and to try every single day to OVER THINK the positive!
Cheers to 2026 and all of you who have tolerated me for yet another year. ❤️

We had such a GREAT time in Lisbon this past weekend!!! The Christmas markets were in full swing and the city was filled with lights, the smell of mulled wine and roasted chestnuts, cheerful visitors and a holiday spirit that was truly infectious! Thank you for indulging me and waiting with 100,000 other people to see the lighting of the tree. I owe ya one!! 😇

Today, two of my favorite people on this planet will celebrate half a century of marriage. That’s no easy feat!! “Togetherness” means a lot of different things….it’s raising kids, buying houses, starting new businesses, figuring out future plans, traveling, working through the hard s**t, coming together, pushing away, becoming grandparents, experiencing loss, crying until the salt leaves your tears, laughing so hard your jaw aches and then simply deciding at the end of each day, you are better together than apart. True love isn’t written in fairy tales, it’s not a romantic comedy…..it’s grit, determination, friendship, solidarity,secrets kept, commitment and most of all, it’s waking up everyday and deciding the one next to you is YOUR PERSON! So cheers to 25 years and !! You two inspire the rest of us that are on the “love journey” and you show us by the way you live, it’s totally worth every second!!! 💕❤️🥳

Last week, we took a trip to the Douro River Valley with our dear friends, Sven and Steven. There really are not enough adjectives to fully describe the experience of being in the mountains with fresh air, exquisite scenery, delicious wine, scrumptious food, precious farm animals and the MOST peaceful bed and breakfast on earth!!! Maria (our host) spoiled us each day with homemade scones, scrambled eggs, crepes, pressed juice from the fruit trees, perfect cappuccinos, and fresh baked bread from the local market complete with homemade jams, honey and butter. I swear, I think my blood pressure went down the minute we walked onto the farm. If the Douro region isn’t on your travel bucket list, I HIGHLY recommend you add it!!!! We literally cannot wait to go back and soak up all the serenity this place has to offer.
