Day 2 of our Beginner Sculpture Class at Cariku Art Lab!
It's amazing what passion, patience, and determination can accomplish!
Lin came to class with a vision: to create a portrait of her husband in traditional Irish attire. And just look at what she's achieved in only two days!
This is what I love about teaching sculpture, watching an idea come to life, one handful of clay at a time.

So proud of her beautiful work!

The reveal!

This mug is more than a tribute to Black Mountain. It carries a piece of our story.

Hurricane Helene brought devastating waters through our mountains, changing our landscape and our community in ways we will never forget.

The waters flooded our mountains, but we remained.

We rebuilt. We helped one another. We kept creating.

This mug is my small homage to the mountains we call home—to their beauty, their strength, and the people who stayed standing with them.

Black Mountain, North Carolina.
Still here. Still beautiful. Still home.
