Look closely - Not every bookcase is just a bookcase.

Tucked into the custom shelving of this home library is a hidden door, flush with the millwork and easy to miss until you know it’s there. The room itself features warm wood tones, a mezzanine overlook, and a cozy seating area below, creating a space that rewards a second look.

Crisp air outside. A crackling fire inside.

Warm veneer paneling, a masonry fireplace, and city views through floor-to-ceiling glass make this den the ultimate fall retreat.

This 100+ year old home came to us as a renovation and addition project. But once we opened up the structure, we found the original foundation was dry-stacked stone — no integrity left to safely build on.
So, the scope changed. What started as a renovation became a full rebuild. We’re salvaging original materials from the house to carry its character and charm into the new construction.
It’s the reminder every existing-home project teaches you: you never really know what you’re working with until you open the walls.

Original stone, untouched. New stone, matched to perfection.
This home’s fieldstone facade was preserved exactly as it was, and its addition was built stone by stone to match — so seamlessly, you can’t tell where history ends and today begins.
