It's that time of year when I reach out to our Dance Educator icon Mr. Carney to venture down to dance studio.
Yes, Ms. Alexander's freshmen visual arts students have drawn themselves and their classmates.
Also, I've encouraged and attended live drawing classes at Express Newark.
I've suggested drawing family members at home in daily life, sitting outside and drawing random people. I was told that's creepy. But we talk to strangers on that game or phone. Anyhoo, I digress.
This experience gives them a peek into their peers who are dance majors, the program and expectations... support for our arts community...exposes them to social skills and another creative space... collaboration... confidence... observation... life ... putting that phone down...etc..
