When you feel like it’s been a really hard summer of flowering… and then you look back and realize it’s also been so, so good. 💐
This season has brought some major shifts in wholesaling, challenging growing conditions because of the weather, and honestly, a lot of days that have felt like we were just putting out one fire after another.
But that’s also the nature of this work.
As a florist, you’re constantly adjusting, fixing, troubleshooting, and finding a way—because you’re creating art with something that is alive, perishable, and sometimes has a mind of its own. 😂
And when you’re a farmer-florist, that troubleshooting goes even deeper. You’re not only designing with the flowers—you’re growing them. You’re navigating weather, pests, timing, crop failures, availability, weddings, wholesale changes, and about a hundred other little obstacles along the way.
But somewhere in the middle of all of that, we found our stride.
And when I look back at this summer, I don’t just see the hard parts anymore. I see beautiful weddings, armloads of flowers, lessons learned, problems solved, growth, and so much good.
Despite the hurdles, this season has reminded me just how resilient this little flower business has become. 🌸
We’ve found our rhythm, we’re proud of what we’ve created, and we’re ready to finish this season STRONG. 💪🏼💐
Sometimes you have to look back to realize just how far you’ve come.
