This interesting aristocractic lady Cayetana Fitz-James Stuart, the 18th Duchess of Alba from Seville; she had a very exentsive costume collection and was a private customer of Dior and Ives Saint Laurent and the likes!
It was good to see that Spanish relations with the US seemed good at the time, as we can see here the visit of Jaqueline Kennedy!

This class is geared towards children in their preteens and teens, anywhere from ages 8 to 14 with some skill in handwork but no previous sewing experience. Whether your child has some interest in sewing or has not yet ever tried this craft before, in this class, s/he will learn the basics of sewing with machine but also some hand stitching. We will be making a simple yet beautiful pillowcase, and your child will experience the joy and pride that comes from creating something with his/her own two hands! By being able to choose from the many sparkling saree fabrics your child will also be enjoying a little artistic design project! Students are welcome to bring their own machines!

You will receive a supply list upon registration! Please make sure to bring all supplies to the first day of class!

A customer came in with this Beauty of a dress, which she inherited from a friend of hers, to whom it had bbeen handed down by her mother! This kind of chain is not uncommon for a world that creates high quality, handmade items! The beautiful Ikat fabric of this dress must be from somewhere in Indonesia, hand-woven, hand-spun, hand dyed with natural colors; hours of work went into alone the material, which is of course silk! It is somethibg worth be handed down for generations, precious and carefully made; at the same time that is has such a long lifespan, were to to be discarded it would sinply return to nature, no leftovers, no toxins, that harm the earth! What is we all would put or time and efforts into such endeavors!
