Vienna Farmers Market Kicks Off Season with Community-Focused Opening Day Celebration
The Vienna Farmers Market returns for another vibrant season in Oneida County, with an Opening Day celebration that brings together local agriculture, small businesses, and community spirit in a big way.
Held at the North Bay Fire Dept's- Fireman's Field, Opening Day of the Vienna Farmers Market! is more than just a market—it’s a full community event. Visitors will find a wide selection of farm vendors offering fresh, locally grown produce, meats, baked goods, and specialty items, alongside talented artisan crafters showcasing handmade goods that reflect the region’s creativity and craftsmanship.
Adding to the excitement, the popular Vienna Car Cruise—hosted by the North Bay Fire Department—returns, offering a showcase of classic and custom vehicles. The Fire Department also operates the market’s food concessions, serving up crowd favorites at affordable prices, with proceeds supporting their ongoing community fundraising efforts.
Agriculture takes center stage with a special meet-up by the Central New York Antique Tractor Club inc., where attendees can get an up-close look at vintage tractors and learn more about the area’s farming heritage.
Opening Day will also feature live media and special guests. BIG FROG 104 will broadcast live during the first part of the market, bringing energy and music to the grounds. Joining the celebration is Christie Casciano, news anchor from WSYR-TV, who will be signing copies of her children’s book, The Puck Hog—a perfect tie-in with the market’s family-friendly atmosphere and Homestead Homeschool programming.
Live music begins at 2:30 p.m. on the Adirondack Bank Stage, featuring a lineup of performers who will appear throughout the season. At 4 p.m., local favorite Dave Schneider—known to many as “Big D”—takes the stage through 6 p.m., delivering an energetic set to close out the day.
Families will also enjoy hands-on agricultural learning experiences as part of the Homestead Homeschool program, including a dairy sheep milking demonstration and lamb petting by 7 Lamb Farm—giving children a meaningful connection to farm life.
The day begins with a Ribbon Cutting ceremony featuring community partners including County Tourism, Sylvan Beach Tourism, the Town of Vienna, Adirondack Bank, the North Bay Fire Department, and M&T Bank, marking the official start of the 2026 season.
With something for everyone—fresh food, live music, educational experiences, and community pride—the Vienna Farmers Market continues to grow as Vienna’s destination place.
