We LOVE this little composition in Melissa’s space! 🖤🤍 🤎. The beautiful mix of vintage transferware, classical bust, framed artwork, and those soft neutral florals creates so much interest while keeping the entire display calm and collected.

And look closely… Melissa used a riser! 👏🏻 Just like we talked about in our latest Mainly Vintage Decorator’s Tip, adding different heights is such a simple way to give a vignette dimension and keep everything from feeling flat.

Neutral doesn’t have to mean boring. In fact, when you mix pattern, texture, shape, scale and height, a neutral palette can be incredibly rich and interesting.

One of the easiest ways to make a vignette or tablescape look interesting and professionally styled is to vary the height of your objects.

When everything sits at the same level, the eye has nowhere to travel. But when you introduce high, medium, and low elements, the arrangement immediately becomes more interesting—and every piece gets a chance to be noticed.

And here’s the secret: you don’t need special risers or expensive accessories. Look around your home for things that can do the job beautifully.
