On this new build, the parcel had the delightful problem of beautiful views in every direction. Working with Clark & Green + Bek meant a lot of care went into where the house sat and which way each mass faced. Our job was to carry that thinking inside.
Our team thought about sightlines in two ways. One was the views themselves. The other was how each room leads to the next: where a space opens up, where it contracts, and what you see as you move through. Then there was the client’s wish for two things at once: rooms that make you feel part of the landscape and rooms that pull you back in and feel cozy. We spent a long time on that tension in the floor plans and furniture layouts.
We love collaborating with architects. They shape the whole: orientation, structure, light, and views. We pick it up from the inside, thinking about flow, function, and how each room is experienced day to day. That handoff is where the best work happens.
