Rural schools are different. They’re not just school, they’re a hub for the entire community.

For this project, multiple school locations came together under one roof. We reused furniture that still had plenty of life left, filled in the gaps with new pieces, and created a cohesive environment for a brand-new elementary school. Inventory and reuse is the greenest path to a welcoming, flexible space designed to support curiosity, creativity, collaboration, and whatever comes next for this growing school community.

A look back at a project we really enjoyed. 🚀
It’s hard to believe it’s been nearly two years since we helped bring the Vista Ridge High School CTE Center to life. The new space brought programs like robotics, mechanical engineering, physical therapy, and business together under one roof.
Working with District 49, Vista Ridge, Hollis + Miller Architects, and Wember, we helped navigate the details, changes, and moving pieces that come with a project like this.
One of our favorite features? Sliding markerboard walls between classrooms that can open up the space for collaboration or close off rooms when needed.
It’s a great example of how flexible design can give students more opportunities to learn by doing.
