Hi. I just got stopped by someone who was told by someone else I got shut down because i couldn't handle running a business. On the contrary, we did so well we outgrew the original space and MOVED. The new location is in the cover photo, and theres a pinned post at the top of the page with the temporary closure information. Its also posted on the website and it should also be on Google because I submitted the temporary closure information. I also regularly post moving updates on tiktok.
The sign posted on the door of the original location has that same information. This is the second time a rumor has been spread about me "closing" and its starting to get annoying. What's even more annoying is Im being told the sources of these rumors are coming from people I know. People that have my number. Please stop this. The delayed reopening is not due to my "inability," but due to flood damage that severely compromised the electrical wiring to the building and it had to be completely redone. It is costly and time consuming. I feel like I've been very open and transparent about this. Would you rather I reopen with sketchy power and burn the house down? Or wait until its safe and legal to operate? I might delete this later. But if you have been told by anyone that I got shut down please relay them this information and please let me know who told you this so I can handle it. Thanks ❤️

YOU DON'T NEED PERMISSION TO BRING IT BACK

The clothesline. The cast iron skillet. The garden full of vegetables. The smell of homemade bread rising in the kitchen. The pantry shelves lined with jars of peaches, green beans, pickles, and tomatoes, all carefully put away for the months ahead.

The mending basket beside a favorite chair. The quilts made from scraps of fabric too good to throw away. The recipes written in a grandmother's familiar handwriting, stained with flour and worn from years of use. The simple satisfaction of making something useful with your own two hands.

Somewhere along the way, many of these things began to disappear from everyday life. Convenience took their place, and while there's certainly nothing wrong with making life easier, I sometimes wonder how much we gave up without realizing it.

We traded the satisfaction of knowing how to do something for the convenience of having someone else do it. We stopped teaching certain skills because we assumed nobody would need them anymore. Before long, things that had been ordinary parts of family life for generations became hobbies, curiosities, or something we only remembered our grandparents doing.

But those skills haven't lost their value simply because the world has changed.

A loaf of homemade bread still feeds a family. A garden still puts food on the table. A well-seasoned cast iron skillet can still serve one generation after another. A needle and thread can still mend what might otherwise be thrown away, and a child who learns these things carries something valuable into adulthood.

You don't need a farmhouse, a large garden, or a kitchen that looks like it belongs in another century. You don't need to do everything the old-fashioned way, and you certainly don't need anyone's approval.

Start with one thing that interests you. Learn to bake bread, hang a load of laundry in the sunshine, plant a few vegetables, mend a torn shirt, or ask an older relative to teach you something they learned growing up.

And if you already know how to do these things, find someone willing to learn and pass that knowledge along.

You don't have to turn back the clock to bring back the good things we left behind.

You simply have to decide they're worth keeping.

And perhaps that's where we begin. Not by trying to recreate the past, but by making sure the best parts of it have a place in the future.

I'd love to know which old-fashioned skill or household tradition you've brought back into your own life, or one you've always wanted to learn.
