It's a cold and rainy day so the best thing to do is to hang out in the barn and chew our cud.

Fiber Arts in La Conner at Art’s Alive 2023!

Terri Shinn’s innovative techniques to push fabric, threads, and cording in new and exciting directions will be showcased at Art’s Alive! in her latest two- and three-dimensional forms. With the natural beauty of trees as an influence, her work explores cutting-edge fiber art. Terri’s peers nominated her, and she was named “Snohomish County Artist of the Year 2005.” She is a returning board member for the Schack Art Center.

Weaving fiber artist, Liz Moncrief, is well-recognized for the complex weaves she designs, the luxurious fibers she hand-dyes for colorations that cannot be replicated, and the exquisite weaving of her pieces. She has twice won the prestigious ‘Complex Weavers Award’ from Complex Weavers Journal, as well as the Judges Award in Colorado last year. Liz also teaches, designs weaving kits for the Silk Studio, and authors articles for Hand Woven Magazine.

Other Invitational Artists for 2023 include: Craig J. Barber, Dennis Allen (Skokomish), Joan Enslin, Deborah Henderson, Kristen Ingman, Janie Olsen, Teresa Smith, Christine Troyer, and Peggy Woods.

Preview the show online October 27 at ArtsAliveLaConner.com.

Our Story

At Sauked In Farm I raise Olde English Babydoll Southdown sheep. Currently located in Bow, Washington, we had our start in the town of Concrete where we had a view of Sauk Mountain (to explain the farm name.) The lambs are raised to be sold as pets and breeding stock, and I also process the flock’s wool into spinning fiber and hand-spun yarn which is sold in my Etsy store at saukedinfarm.etsy.com
