**STORE UPDATE**
Good Morning Everyone,
This is Kristina — the other, more silent (🤣) half of The Makers Market.
I asked Charlette to let me be the one to write this post because there are a few things I really want to say.
For about 10 years, Charlette has dreamed of opening her own small business centered around what I lovingly call “crafty things.” Around this time two years ago, we decided it was time to make that dream a reality. We jumped headfirst into the deep end of a challenging industry and opened our doors on July 1, 2024.
Opening this store was, without a doubt, one of the bravest things I’ve ever watched my wife do (second only to marrying me, of course 😆). She had a vision, a dream, and a million ideas—and she went after them with everything she had, helmet optional.
Unfortunately, after nearly two years, we have made the heartbreaking decision to close the store at the end of June.
This wasn’t a quick decision, nor an easy one. We spent a lot of time thinking through every option. Small businesses are incredibly hard. There are countless factors that have to align to make it over that next hurdle, and in the end, we simply could not sustain what is required to continue.
Anyone who knows my wife knows how much of her heart and soul she poured into this place—along with a fair amount of blood, sweat, and tears. Her attention to detail, commitment to quality, and endless stream of creative ideas brought so much life to this store. From the carefully curated products to the birthday parties, workshops, and classes led by talented makers willing to share their skills, every corner of The Makers Market reflects her passion.
To our vendors and customers: you are the reason we made it this far.
We have been blessed with the absolute best people a small business could ask for. Time and time again, we’ve heard how unique, inspiring, and fun the talent on these shelves is—and how there’s truly “something for everyone.”
While The Makers Market storefront is closing, The Makers Market is not gone forever. It’s simply on pause while we figure out what’s next.
Our final day open to customers will be June 27th.
Please stop by and help our incredible vendors finish this chapter with a bang. Shop local, show them some love, and celebrate the amazing creativity that made this place special.
Throughout the month, we’ll be posting some well-deserved shout-outs because there are simply too many wonderful people to thank in one post. 😁
And one final thought:
Small businesses don’t fail because they close. The only failure would have been never trying at all.
With love and gratitude,
Charlette & Kristina
❤️
