I truly believe that for some people design is more than just a skill or a job—for some of us it is woven into the fabric of who God made us to be. I feel like I see everything through a different lens, one not chosen or acquired; it has just always been there. I did take basic design courses in college, but I have learned the most from hands on experience over the last ten years. Starting out my
husband helped me learn how to use different types of equipment and he was, and still is, the backbone of bringing many of my ideas to life. As I learned, I discovered a passion for restoring broken or unwanted furniture and wood scraps and turning them into something unique and beautiful! For me it was and still is a metaphor of how God restores our brokenness and gives us new life: 2 Corinthians 5:17! My signature cupcake stand (bottle serving stand) and cake stands are good examples of “Restore, Revive, Reimagine”. You might be surprised at what they are made from! I opened and managed “The G Booth” for 4 years. I was designing building and refinishing projects on a daily basis. I also had the opportunity to design and decorate several nurseries and spaces for family, friends, and the occasional client. In the Fall of 2018 God began stirring in my heart and preparing me for a new adventure. I was given the opportunity to begin turning cluttered or empty homes into beautifully staged and decorated spaces for the real estate market. A few months later we closed the booth and officially started G Design LLC. This opened the door to many interior design opportunities. I have loved staging, doing home consultations, updating business spaces as well as personal homes, and being the project coordinator for complete renovations. As God continues to open doors in different avenues of design, I am truly thankful!
