📖 Could a good book help you get a better night’s sleep?

Instead of ending the day scrolling on your phone, try reaching for a book. According to the Better Sleep Council, research suggests that reading for just 15 to 30 minutes before bed may help you wind down and improve sleep quality.

A few tips for making reading part of your bedtime routine:

📚 Choose a printed book rather than your phone or tablet
💡 Keep the lighting low and warm
📱 Put your phone away before you settle in
⏰ Give yourself a stopping point - one chapter or about 15 minutes

And don't forget about where you're reading! A comfortable, supportive mattress and pillow can make winding down at the end of the day even better.

😴 Are you a side sleeper, back sleeper, or stomach sleeper?

Your favorite sleep position can make a difference in how comfortable you are throughout the night. Sleep expert and educator Terry Cralle, RN, shares a few simple ways to make your preferred position more comfortable:

💤 Side sleeper? Try bending your knees slightly toward your chest. A pillow between your legs may also help reduce pressure on your hips and lower back.

💤 Back sleeper? Placing a soft pillow or rolled-up towel under your knees can help support the natural curve of your spine.

💤 Stomach sleeper? Consider using a very soft pillow - or no pillow at all - to help keep your neck from resting at an awkward angle.
