So after 15 years of teaching, which consisted of almost all the core subjects (primarily math) I’ve found myself now in a new area. 💨STEAM💨

If you’re not familiar with the area it’s a combination of math, science, art and engineering. Pretty stoked to get more creative and tap into what I was on track for in high school (architecture). My 8th graders will designing a Sustainable/Eco Friendly house in one semester. The we’ll be closing out the year with Musical Engineering in which they will design their own instrument from household items. Shout out to Clarizio Music Center for the supplies on that one.

Super nervous but also stoked to see how this goes. Happy 1st day to all my friends out there.

This week we upgraded our system after our stereo was fried during a storm last month. I was looking for a decorative way to have these things off the ground. I decided to take some of the leftover 4x4 from our retaining wall to throw these together. Simple geometric cuts and this is the result.
