As we continue our 70 year celebration of Antinozzi Associates, we reflect on the longstanding partnerships that shaped our work. Our collaboration with People’s Bank (now M&T Bank) began in 1979, expanded swiftly through the 1980’s, and continued throughout the 90’s and 00’s – incorporating innovative banking environments throughout Connecticut. Our early design work included dozens of branch renovations/additions and new branch locations. In the mid-90’s, we began a rapid implementation of supermarket branches in Stop & Shop locations statewide. Swipe through to explore these projects.

The Julian Curtiss School is officially open!

The ribbon cutting celebrated the collaboration, dedication, and teamwork that helped bring this thoughtful design together for the community. We also salute the life and legacy of former Committee Chair Bill Kelly, who we lost in 2024. His motto, PAY IT FORWARD, is now cast in bronze on the front of the building.

As the Building Committee Chair David Levine shared, while speaking of legacy:

“Lisa Yates, of Antinozzi Associates. Lisa, you represent the best of what an architectural firm and a true team player can leave in terms of the lasting legacy you can have on a project.”

Watch the ribbon cutting and hear more about this exciting project at the link in our bio.

Continuing the celebration of our 70th anniversary in 2026, the 1970s brought a new approach to high school design, and Trumbull High School reflected that shift.

Designed by Antinozzi Associates and completed in 1971, the new 200,000 SF campus was created to accommodate Trumbull’s rapidly growing suburban student population - rethinking the traditional post-war era high school environment into progressive, community-centric educational hubs.

The Brutalist-influenced, “modern” design featured a 565-seat multi-use lecture hall, a sunken outdoor courtyard and amphitheater, a prominent two-story media center, and a massive indoor athletic complex – all spaces that reflected the evolving needs of education and student life.

More than 50 years later, even after the four-year ‘renovate-as-new’ project was completed in 2013, the original design remains an important part of Trumbull High School’s story and ours. Several aspects of the design still speak to the 21st Century learning environments implemented in today’s public schools.

Welcome back, Julian Curtiss School!
We're proud to celebrate the completion of the newly renovated cafeteria, the third of four phases of improvements designed by Antinozzi Associates. The project will streamline service, reducing lunch waves by half to help ensure all students can enjoy lunch...at lunchtime.
Working within a historic 1946 school building while maintaining operations required months of planning to achieve results in only 60 working days of construction this summer. The results speak for themselves, delivering both beautiful aesthetics and meaningful functional improvements.
Thank you to the Julian Curtiss community and our incredible project partners for making this project a success.

Welcome back educators, and students! As everyone begins a new school year, we’re highlighting Washington Elementary School, which opened its doors last school year and introduced a learning environment designed to spark curiosity, creativity, and imagination.

Washington Elementary Principal Alicia Limosani offered her thoughts as they start year two: “It feels good to have set down our roots and be ‘home.’ We loved our new school from day one and are looking forward to lots more good learning and making memories. It promotes a positive mindset. It’s a bright, colorful, and beautiful school where all students can learn socially, emotionally, and academically.”

The school’s concept brings a vibrant, abstract sense of the cosmos into each space. Bold color palettes become more than just a visual element—they serve as a wayfinding tool, helping students navigate the school while creating a playful glow that extends to the exterior of the building. The design embraces the creative and imaginative spirit of its students, creating an environment where exploration is encouraged and possibilities feel limitless.

The 1970s marked the beginning of a strong professional relationship between Antinozzi Associates and the City of Bridgeport.

During the decade, we had the opportunity to work on two of Bridgeport’s iconic landmarks: the Bridgeport Train Station and the conversion of the original Central High School to the now City Hall.

These projects marked the start of a shared commitment to preserving and strengthening Bridgeport’s architectural landscape culminating in 2007 when we moved our office to Bridgeport’s historic Bijou Theater.

The 1970s marked a new era of collaboration and innovation in K-12 educational design in Connecticut.

One of the defining projects of the decade for Antinozzi Associates was Pomperaug Regional High School, serving the communities of Southbury and Middlebury. Programmed, designed, and constructed in the 1970s, this 175,000-square-foot facility was intentionally positioned across the Southbury–Middlebury town lines, a symbolic reflection of the partnership between the two communities of Regional School District 15, formed in the late 1960’s.

The school’s design included an indoor greenhouse, a 1,000-seat auditorium, and learning spaces that supported a well-rounded and modern educational experience. Pictured in an image above is the original architectural rendering, offering a glimpse into the vision that brought this landmark project to life.
