🔦New Scenic Design at Sinclair’s WTOV Features New and Upgraded Brightline Lighting Complement
📍Bridgeville, Penn., April 13, 2026 - Sinclair, Inc. station WTOV sits atop a hill in Mingo Junction, Ohio - near where the Academy Award-winning film The Deer Hunter was shot in 1978. A mural of the film still adorns the wall of a building at the bottom of the hill.
The station’s welcoming atmosphere reflects the consistency of its long-term management combined with its ability to adopt a new stylistic approach, while maintaining its core vision to deliver balanced and timely news. For example, WTOV NEWS9's Vice-President and General Manager, Tim McCoy joined the station as a news videographer in 1981 and has shepherded it through decades of change, including ensuring that its new design is optimized for a dynamic look and multi-platform news production.
With Sinclair’s support, WTOV transformed their studio into a digitally enhanced broadcast center that delivers live news programming through a variety of electronic and color-changing backgrounds. Sinclair’s Eric Castagne, Assistant Director of Television Production at Sinclair, took the lead designing the electronic sets, with support from Director of Television Production, Mark Nadeau.
Brightline Lighting Partner Sam Cercone, a proud Ohio native, visited the studio after it went online. What he witnessed at WTOV was a brilliant lighting and set design, optimized within the existing space.
