The Spaghetti Warehouse auction features this framed paper 1909 advertisement for B.F. Goodrich Company Akron Rubber Works Factories in Akron, Ohio. This framed print, featuring the "Goodrich Girl" Marie, once hung in the restaurant's bar. The Spaghetti Warehouse opened its Akron franchise in this location in 1992 in the former B.F. Goodrich warehouse and production facility, constructed in the 1870s and later incorporated into the Canal Place complex. It quickly became a staple, known for eclectic vintage decor, including historic tire company signs, an old Akron street trolley, and a 20-foot chandelier from the Dunes Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas.
The advertisement reflects Akron's history as the "Rubber Capital of the World," a theme celebrated throughout the restaurant. The artwork was originally created by Albert Lynch (1860-1950), a renowned Peruvian-born French painter known for his portraits of elegant women. Other B.F. Goodrich factories, as noted in the advertisement, were located in Chicago, IL, Philadelphia, PA, and Boston, MA.
This is an opportunity not only to own a piece of Spaghetti Warehouse history but also of Akron history.
