Cozy season is my favorite season.

If you know me, you know fall has always had my heart. The crisp mornings, oversized sweaters, changing leaves, warm drinks (although I most likely still have an iced coffee in hand), and all the little things that make this time of year feel so special.

There’s just something about this season that makes me want to get cozy, pull out all my favorite fall things, and spend a little extra time creating.

Now, if Virginia could just get the memo that it’s fall, that would be lovely! 😂 Anyone else ready for sweater weather?

We’ve had so much interest in our Woven Autumn Kinusaiga Workshop that we’re adding another date—and a new location—to the books!

We’re excited to bring Creative Gatherings to The Quilters Mercantile in Re*****on, VA on Friday, October 30th from 5:30–7:30 PM.

Join us as we create a 10” × 10” fall-inspired Kinusaiga piece using beautiful seasonal fabrics and the traditional no-sew technique of tucking fabric into carefully cut grooves. Choose from one of our Woven Autumn designs and make a piece you’ll be able to bring out and enjoy year after year.

No sewing or prior experience is needed—all materials are included.

And if Re*****on isn’t close to you, we still have two Woven Autumn dates at Warrenton Market, along with our upcoming Gather & Graze Holiday Charcuterie Workshop in November.

Registration is now open through the Events tab at lushvinedesigns.com. Space is limited, so be sure to reserve your spot.

Over the past year, something special has begun to grow within Lush Vine Designs. What started as an opportunity to share a creative project together has become something I truly look forward to—welcoming you in, teaching something new, and watching each person turn the same materials into something uniquely their own.

So I decided it was time to give these experiences a name.

Introducing Creative Gatherings by Lush Vine Designs.

Creative Gatherings will be home to the seasonal workshops I’ve loved hosting, along with private gatherings designed for friends, families and small groups who want to create together.

Some gatherings will revisit projects you’ve come to love, while others will give us the opportunity to explore new crafts, materials and ideas throughout the seasons.

More than anything, I want Creative Gatherings to feel warm, welcoming and thoughtfully prepared—a place where you can learn something new, enjoy the company around you, and leave with something you’re genuinely proud to have made.

I’m so grateful to everyone who has already joined me around the table, and I’m excited to see where Creative Gatherings grows from here.

🍂 WOVEN AUTUMN is here! 🍂

I’m so excited to share the next workshop in my Creative Gatherings by Lush Vine Designs series!

For Woven Autumn, we’ll be using the no-sew art of Kinusaiga to create a beautiful fall piece using layers of fabric, texture and all those warm autumn colors I love so much.

This time, you’ll have three designs to choose from:
🍁 Pumpkin & Gourd
🍁 Acorns & Oak Leaves
🍁 Autumn Leaf

You’ll choose your design when you arrive and then make it completely your own with a variety of fabrics available during the workshop. I’ll walk you through the process step-by-step, so no sewing or previous Kinusaiga experience is needed.

And if you joined me for one of my previous Kinusaiga workshops, don’t forget—you can bring back your 10” × 10” wooden frame and register at the Returning Guest price of $40!

We have two dates to choose from this time, including an evening option for those who have been asking for one.

A little look back at Quilted Home-

This past Sunday’s Creative Gathering at Warrenton Market was SO much fun! I loved seeing everyone’s Ohio Stars come together and watching how completely different each one looked depending on the fabrics they chose. There were so many beautiful combinations, and I think that may be one of my favorite parts of Kinusaiga—no two finished pieces ever look quite the same.

Thank you so much to everyone who came out and spent the afternoon creating with me. I truly appreciate each of you choosing to attend one of my workshops and supporting this little idea of mine as Creative Gatherings continues to grow.

And for those who have been wanting to try Kinusaiga...another workshop is already in the works for later this fall! 🍂 This time I’m planning to offer several seasonal designs to choose from, so there will be even more opportunity to make your piece your own.

Our next Creative Gathering is here!

Introducing Quilted Home — A Barn Quilt Kinusaiga workshop featuring the classic Ohio Star.

Using fabric and the no-sew art of Kinusaiga, you’ll create your own framed 10” × 10” Ohio Star, choosing fabrics along the way to make your piece uniquely yours. No sewing skills or previous experience needed!

This workshop includes all materials and instruction, light bites, refreshments, and a signature seasonal drink.

And for those who joined us for our last Kinusaiga workshop, there’s a new Returning Guest option! Bring your 10” × 10” frame from your previous Lush Vine Designs workshop and register for $40 instead of $50.

✨ A little something I’ve been so excited to share! ✨

I’m so grateful to announce that Lush Vine Designs has been welcomed as a new vendor at The Country Gathering in Orange, VA! 🤍

I’m especially excited to be sharing this beautiful space alongside Rustic Trails (Rustic Trails ), a small business offering all-natural soy wax candles, bath salts, thoughtful gifts, and so much more. It’s such a joy to be surrounded by other creative small businesses and to be part of a shop with so much heart.

Over the coming months, you’ll find Lush Vine Designs bringing in a variety of fall and winter home décor, Virginia & Orange-themed treasures, seasonal apparel, magnets, bookmarks, jewelry, scripture-inspired pieces, and more.

A heartfelt thank you to Jill, the owner of The Country Gathering, for welcoming me into your shop family and giving me this wonderful opportunity to continue growing and expanding Lush Vine Designs. I’m truly thankful for your support and generosity, and I’m so excited for what’s ahead!

Thank you to everyone who joined me for our very first Threads of Heritage Kinusaiga Workshop.

It was such a joy spending the afternoon/evening creating together, sharing stories, and watching each project come to life. Even though everyone started with the same design, every finished piece reflected its maker through different fabric choices, colors, and creative touches—making each one truly one of a kind.

One of my favorite moments was seeing the smiles when everyone stepped back to admire what they had created. There’s something so rewarding about slowing down, learning a new skill, and leaving with a handmade piece you’ll proudly display in your home.

Thank you for spending part of your day with me, for trusting me to teach this beautiful Japanese art form, and for making our first Threads of Heritage workshop such a wonderful success.

I already have ideas for future designs, and I can’t wait to create with you again soon.
