Worth the drive north.

A look back at one piece of a much larger project we completed a few years ago.

Surrounded by trees, this sunroom was always meant to feel like an extension of its setting. We kept the palette warm and understated, allowing the natural materials, stone fireplace and incredible views to do most of the talking.

And while the room feels polished, comfort was just as important. That chair? A recliner. All the comfort, without looking like one.

Luxury doesn’t have to feel untouchable.

For this condo, we wanted the bedroom to feel collected, warm and deeply comfortable. The kind of space you genuinely look forward to coming home to.

We’re layering rich earth tones, subtle pattern and texture with moments of deeper color to bring warmth and personality into a contemporary setting. Each selection plays a role, from the bedding and area rugs to the fabric and paint, without everything needing to perfectly match.

The result we’re working toward is approachable luxury: elevated, personal and meant to be lived in.

A little farmhouse, reimagined for city living.

For this relocation project, the goal was to bring the warmth and familiarity of our clients’ previous home into a more modern urban setting.

In the bedroom, tailored plaid, warm neutrals, layered textures, and natural materials create a sense of comfort and familiarity, while the clean lines and expansive views keep the space feeling fresh and current.

An addition designed to feel like it was always part of the home.

The best additions don’t announce themselves. They quietly become part of the home’s story.

Designing an addition isn’t simply about creating more square footage. It’s about understanding proportion, rooflines, materials, window placement, and how the new space connects to the existing architecture so it feels like it has always belonged.

For this project, every decision was made with that goal in mind. Rather than competing with the original home, the addition was designed to complement it, creating a light-filled space that feels cohesive, intentional, and timeless.

Sometimes the most successful design isn’t the one that stands out. It’s the one that feels like it was always meant to be there.

The wall that almost didn’t happen, but was absolutely worth figuring out.

This started with removing the existing paneling, demoing what needed to go, skim coating, priming, wallpapering, and then deciding that apparently the wallpaper still needed one more layer.

So we sat there twisting rope, tying fringe, measuring, testing adhesives and mounting options, reworking the first round when it didn’t cooperate, and very seriously questioning why I come up with these ideas in the first place.

The goal was to create a custom 3D rope and fringe detail that felt like it belonged to the wallpaper, not something just added on top. Getting there took a lot more problem solving than the finished photo probably gives away.

Stressful? Yes.
Worth it? Also yes.
Would we do it again? Let’s give it a minute.

But this wall tells the story of the kind of design details that only happen when you’re willing to figure it out all the way through.

A city condo living room designed to feel calm, collected, and fully livable.

We layered warm neutrals, tailored upholstery, textured pillows, natural wood, and functional pieces that could hold their own without competing with the view.

The goal was not to overfill the space. It was to make it feel finished, comfortable, and intentional from every angle.

One from the archives, but still one of the best examples of what a finished basement can become.

For this lower level, we created a more functional extension of the home with a kitchenette, lounge area, home gym, bathroom, bedroom, and updated finishes throughout.

This project also included the work people do not always see in the final photos, including adding an egress window to create a safer, code-compliant true bedroom.

Warm wood tones, durable flooring, improved lighting, and intentional zones helped turn an unfinished basement into a space designed for everyday use, entertaining, and flexibility.

A reminder that the lower level can be just as considered as the rest of the home.

Life at AGI lately.

June was full, busy, and slightly chaotic in the best way.

Between installs, sourcing, material selections, deliveries, studio days, candle testing, and a van that got plenty of action this month, there has been a lot happening behind the scenes.

We hosted our open house this month and felt so grateful for everyone who came by, supported, shared, or helped make the studio feel full of life.

We also made it out for our annual MBA golf outing, which was the perfect mix of good weather, good energy, and good people.

Somewhere between the design work, remodels, events, food, schedules, and rare photos of us actually in front of the camera, June turned into one of those months where everything seemed to be happening all at once.

Busy, full, eventful, and exciting.
