Our design process doesn’t end at the drawing — it ends in the workshop.
Every bespoke piece we create is prototyped at full scale, in the hands of the fabricators who will make it. We test the idea, the movement, the making itself. Only when all three convince us does it leave the bench.

Initial concept design for this Cartagena project, where light is not just seen, it is felt. For this historic coastal loft, our mission was to honor that heavy, golden Caribbean atmosphere while entirely reimagining the limits of a compact footprint.

Faced with soaring ceiling heights, the homeowners envisioned a space that could gracefully expand to accommodate guests. Rather than slicing the volume with static drywall, we introduced a towering mezzanine enclosed by a floor-to-ceiling, operable timber screen.

Inspired by the traditional pivoting wooden windows, once popular in the Colombian coast, this breathing architectural facade acts as a fluid filter. Throughout the day, it choreographs an ever-changing dance of cross-ventilation, privacy, and dramatic, filtered shadows.

To preserve a sense of quiet, uncluttered luxury, every element of the floor plan had to work twice as hard. We anchored the living area with a custom, built-in sofa that seamlessly doubles as a daybed for extra guests. This spatial efficiency unlocked the footprint, allowing us to discretely integrate two bathrooms into the layout without sacrificing an ounce of airiness.

We believe the smallest rooms can have the biggest impact. Here, we stripped away the unnecessary, allowing natural materials, thoughtful proportions, and carefully layered light to define the experience. A simple composition designed to feel warm, enduring, and deeply considered.

May was a month of collecting inspiration wherever we could find it.

We spent our days exploring NYCxDesign shows and events, meeting artists and designers, discovering new work, and revisiting old favorites—including a return to The Met’s decorative arts collection, which never fails to spark new ideas.

In between gallery visits and design conversations, we wrapped construction on our studio apartment project and broke ground on our townhouse renovation.

A month of inspiration, progress, and many reminders that good design is shaped as much by what happens outside the studio as what happens inside it.

Here’s a little recap of what we’ve been up to lately.

Wrapping up NYCxDesign week with a full heart and a lot of inspiration. Grateful for the meaningful conversations and connections with people equally passionate about art, design, and the built environment.

One of my biggest takeaways this year was the reminder that design doesn’t happen in a vacuum. Our work becomes so much richer when we step beyond our virtual personas and connect in person, exchanging ideas, perspectives, and experiences in real time. There’s something incredibly energizing about being in community with people who care deeply about shaping the world around us.

There is a quiet power in a well-considered corner. This space was designed to be more than a functional area for meals; it is an architectural embrace intended to anchor the home and encourage a slower, more intentional pace.

The soft curve of the banquette and the grounded weight of the marble table create a natural magnet for connection. It’s a place that effortlessly adapts to the shifting rhythms of the day, transforming from a serene spot for morning reflections into a collaborative hub for creative work, or a cozy alcove where conversation lingers long after the plates have been cleared.

True design succeeds when it facilitates these unscripted human moments. By balancing material integrity with functional precision, we create environments that don’t just hold furniture, but hold space for the life that happens around it.
