Not your Grandma’s candy dish...

Okay, so this probably WAS your Grandma’s candy dish. But that doesn’t mean it has to stay one.

Use it for jewelry on your vanity, little things on your desk, cocktail garnishes at the bar or whatever else deserves its own little pedestal. Sometimes the best vintage pieces are the ones that still work for how we live now.

Now, what would you fill it with?

Vintage Hollywood Regency Two Tier Crystal Glass Tidbit Server. Available now in the shop. Shipping and direct purchase available.

Every Surface Deserves a Tray

No Era loves a good tray! I’ve always thought of them as rugs for tabletops. They define the space, corral the clutter and make the surface feel finished and curated.

Whether they’re mirrored, brass, lacquered, silver, wood or Lucite, there’s no such thing as too many!

This vintage 1950s Baroque mirrored vanity brass tray is available in the shop. Direct pricing and shipping are available. Click the shoppable tag or DM with interest.

Jewelry for The Room 💎

The Venetian mirror has always been as much about ornament as reflection. The tradition took shape in Venice and Murano during the Renaissance, when Venetian glassmakers developed exceptionally clear glass and new techniques for producing highly reflective, flat mirrors.

The craft was closely guarded. Venice went to considerable lengths to protect its glassmaking secrets and prevent skilled artisans from taking their techniques elsewhere. For centuries, Murano’s glassmakers held a coveted position in the European luxury market.

What makes the Venetian mirror distinctive is the way its frame is constructed. Instead of a conventional carved or molded frame surrounding a single mirror, Venetian makers assembled the border from separate pieces of glass, which could be beveled, etched, engraved or decorated with additional glass ornament. The glass was supported from behind, but the decorative frame itself became part of the design making the mirror feel almost like a piece of jewelry for the room.

This mid century reproduction takes that idea into the 20th century, with a scalloped frame, etched glass panels and a beveled central mirror.
