MORE SPACE | Sometimes you need to carve out space wherever you can. Indoor Parking is usually the first to go. Most garages built in the city were required and don't always fit the car you own. The garages in most older, urban homes also don't fit todays cars. Don't overlook this space when you need more!

FLOATING | All remodels have items to work around. This one had footings under all four walls. First, wall mounted toilet and the only place it could be installed was directly in front of the doorway (boo!) so it had to look good. A floating vanity. Check. And Its a living in place design so a zero threshold shower is a must along with built in seating, hand shower within reach & grab bars. Footings everywhere = floating everything!

BOSCO VERTICALE | Residential architecture at its finest. I design inside out in most projects but this building in Milan by Boeri Studios definitely started with the outside. LIGHTING | Cosy lighting for a hot shower. Clients wanted to age in place so their daughter stepped up. We converted a garage/workshop and part of the daylight basement to an ADU. Zero threshold shower was imperative and so was sqeezing in laundry.
