🌿 Word in Bloom: Concinnity
kuhn-SIN-ih-tee • noun • A harmonious arrangement of different parts.

Some of my favorite bouquets begin with flowers I would not have thought to put together. Their colors, shapes, and textures are different, yet somehow each brings out something lovely in the others.

There is a beautiful word for that harmony: concinnity.

It makes me think about the people who bring richness to our lives. One friend makes us laugh, another helps us see things differently, and someone else always seems to know when we need a little encouragement. Each brings something we would miss without them.

The Master Gardener has given us different gifts, perspectives, and ways of caring for one another. What a beautiful thing it is when we make room for those differences and discover how well they can grow together.

Perhaps that is something to appreciate this week, in our bouquets and in our friendships: we do not have to match to belong beautifully together.

🌻Word in Bloom: Susurration
(noun; sus-uh-RAY-shun) A soft, whispering or rustling sound.

A garden has its own quiet language: leaves stirring in the breeze, grasses brushing together, and branches shifting gently overhead.

Susurration gives a name to those hushed sounds we hear only when we slow down enough to notice. The garden invites us to pause, breathe deeply, and listen. In the stillness, hurried thoughts settle, gratitude rises, and our hearts become more attentive to God.
