Contrary to what is portrayed on Mary Poppins, we clean most chimneys from the bottom to the top. We do not sing and dance around on the roof. And most importantly, chimneys and fireplaces are serious business and can get you killed. While whimsical images of Christmas and dancing sweeps sell movies, they undermine the seriousness of proper chimney care. There are probably people that aren't alive today because of that film.
