The Hi-Fi Hall of Fame is pleased to announce our latest inductee: loudspeaker manufacturer KEF. Founded in 1961 by Raymond Cooke, KEF has been at the forefront of speaker design and manufacturing ever since.
From their earliest products in the 1960s, to their latest designs, KEF speakers have always delivered high fidelity sound. The company has always pioneered the use of new materials, new technologies, and meticulous manufacturing.
They produced products such as the LS3/5A for the professional market. These were so popular that KEF produced a consumer version that has has sold hundreds of thousands of units over the years.
KEF also produced some superb speaker kits that allowed the hobbyist to build their own versions of KEF speakers, or to create something entirely new. KEF also sold drivers and other parts to other speaker manufacturers such as IMF and Linn to drive innovation.
More recently, KEF has produced some superb wireless speakers such as the LS50, a range of architectural speakers, some superb headphones, and some ultra-high-end speakers such as the Muon and Blade.
