This little giraffe weevil is lounging on a kitten jaw, surrounded by moss, bark, a skeleton leaf, and a small chunk of amethyst

As the largest moth you can find in Idaho, as well as being named after the Greek story of Polyphemus, a cyclops, I fell in love instantly, claiming this species my favorite of all moths! So I made this piece as part of my personal collection!

This Polyphemus is nested in moss and surrounded by some dried gasses I picked from a canal bank. Resting in the grasses is also a whitetail deer jaw, some mushrooms, a pinecone my son got me from a mountain camping trip, as well as a rose from my husband and a crystal from my grandmother.

For those of you who may not know.. I LOVE bugs. Like really love them (most of them. Im looking at you, junebug 😑)
But one of my faves is the weevil! They're so adorable with those long snoots and cute little boots. So I made one with uv gel for a project in working on!
