We loved welcoming a local student to Schrader and Company for a recent Interior Design Job Shadow Day! ✏️🏡

It was a great opportunity to give her a behind-the-scenes look at what a career in interior design really looks like—from the creative side of selecting materials, finishes, and colors to understanding how thoughtful design, planning, and construction all come together to create a finished space.

Our team enjoyed sharing a glimpse into the day-to-day work of an Interior Designer and answering questions about the many career paths available within the design and construction industry.

We’re always excited to encourage the next generation to explore their interests, ask questions, and discover where their creativity might take them. Thank you for spending the day with us—we hope you left feeling inspired! 🤍

The goal: a backyard that feels like a true extension of the home. Designed for gathering, relaxing, dining, and enjoying more time outdoors!

This backyard transformation is all about creating a more functional and inviting space for outdoor living and entertaining.

The project will include the removal the existing back deck and replacing it with a larger deck featuring a material for lasting durability and easy maintenance. Plans also include adding a pergola or structure to provide definition and shade over a portion of the space.

Additional features include an outdoor kitchen area and plenty of lighting to make the deck just as enjoyable in the evening.

New French doors from the family room will create a seamless connection between indoors and out, while a potential pass-through kitchen window will make serving food and entertaining even easier.

Some things don’t change—and we think that’s a good thing.

A few years ago, we created this video to share a little about who we are, what we do, and most importantly, why we do it. Today, the projects may be different, some of our team has changed, but our purpose remains the same.

We’re still committed to thoughtful planning, exceptional craftsmanship, and creating spaces that make a meaningful difference in the way our clients live in their homes.

So, we thought this video was worth revisiting—a reminder of where we’ve been, what continues to guide us, and why we’re proud to do what we do every day.

Because trends may change, but quality, trust, and a commitment to our craft never go out of style.

Enjoy the videos and music you love, upload original content, and share it all with friends, family, and the world on YouTube.

There’s something about fall that inspires us to bring a little more warmth home. 🍂

Rich, earthy tones, warm wood grains, layered textures, and timeless brass details come together to create a palette that feels cozy, grounded, and inviting. From deep greens and warm rusts to natural woods and soft neutrals, autumn reminds us just how beautiful it can be to embrace color and texture in our homes.

Inspired by the season. Designed for every season.
