Winter-weary houseplants enjoying a refreshing Spring shower with the garden hose. Potted plants can accumulate salts from tap water and fertilizer over time. It is a good practice in the Spring when they are coming out of dormancy to flush the potting soil. Water thoroughly, let it drain and then re-drench it one or two more times. Make sure the plant is in a container that drains well. Taking them outside when the weather warms makes it easy to shower off the leaves and flush the soil of multiple plants quickly with no mess. Your plants will thank you!

Spring, glorious Spring! After our white Christmas. And New Years. And Valentines Day and Groundhog Day-we are ready for some COLOR!
