After careful consideration and close monitoring of the weather forecast, the City of Adairsville has made the difficult decision to cancel the Sunday, October 4th portion of the 58th Annual Great Locomotive Chase Festival due to expected inclement weather.
While we are disappointed to conclude this year's festival earlier than planned, the safety of our vendors, volunteers, staff, entertainers, and attendees remains our top priority. Equally important is protecting the significant investment our vendors have made in their products, displays, equipment, and inventory. With the forecast calling for unfavorable weather conditions, we do not want this event to result in damaged merchandise or costly losses for the businesses and organizations that help make our festival such a success.
We are incredibly grateful for the more than 100 vendors, sponsors, volunteers, community partners, and thousands of visitors who joined us throughout the weekend. Your support, enthusiasm, and dedication continue to make the Great Locomotive Chase Festival one of Northwest Georgia's most cherished traditions.
